Egypt and Jordan are among the most dynamic economies in the MENA region and offer attractive investment and trade opportunities. The pharmaceutical industry in particular offers great opportunities: Egypt plans to increase the export value of pharmaceutical products to USD 5 billion by 2030 and is increasingly investing in new technologies, production lines and international partnerships. This opens up cooperation opportunities and sales markets for machinery, equipment and innovative technologies for German companies. The expansion of local production capacities also strengthens competitiveness and opens up export opportunities to Arab countries and worldwide.

The modernization of the pharmaceutical and production sectors in both countries creates promising expansion opportunities for German companies.

The project is part of the market development program for SMEs and is subject to the de minimis regulations. The companies' own contribution to participation in the project depends on the size of the company:

• EUR 500 (net) for participants with an annual turnover of less than EUR 2 million and fewer than 10 employees
• EUR 750 (net) for participants with an annual turnover of less than EUR 50 million and fewer than 500 employees
• EUR 1000 (net) for participants with an annual turnover of EUR 50 million or more or 500 or more employees

Travel, accommodation and catering costs are borne by the participants themselves. The individual consulting services will be certified for all participants in accordance with the EU's de minimis regulation. A maximum of 15 companies can take part. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received, with SMEs having priority over large companies.
