The International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaics (ITRPV) is developed by the PV industry for the PV industry. Once a year, data is collected from the contributors and processed anonymously as well as evaluated by the VDMA. Participation is free of charge.

If your company is part of the PV supply chain and would like to participate in the development of the roadmap, please contact us and become a member of the team. More detailed information on the data collection method and approach can be found here.

  • ITRPV: Concept + Methodology
The International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaic (ITRPV) serves the purpose of highlighting developments and trends in the photovoltaic market and is considered a guide for the entire crystalline silicon-based (c-Si) photovoltaic supply chain. It considers the entire PV value chain from crystallization, wafering and cell processing as well as module manufacturing to system. Key parameters are identified and elaborated, new trends are discussed, and the photovoltaic learning curve is considered in detail. It is crucial that a valid and comprehensive database is available for the roadmap. The participating companies along the value chain from crystallization to the system are jointly working out the essential parameters currently under consideration, which will be published in the roadmap. Below you will find more information and details about the ITRPV, the approach, the data collection and how you can participate.

as discussed at the last board meeting of the VDMA Photovoltaics Equipment sector group, we would like to invite the VDMA management and the VDMA PV Board to a joint meeting (online) on the topic of strategic exchange on the PV machinery industry. Despite the difficult situation for European PV manufacturers due to the lack of fair competitive conditions, the PV machinery industry in Germany and Europe continues to have very strong production technologies. Our members are able to cover almost all process steps of PV production in the consortium with a cumulative market potential of around USD 275 billion by 2035. The current framework conditions are currently not sufficient. To ensure future viability and growth, it is crucial to build on our strengths and exploit new potential.
