VDMA Power Transmission Engineering represents the interests of the largest supplier sector in mechanical engineering. We are the network for more than 220 manufacturers of drive elements, gearboxes, electrical drive technology and linear technology, who generate over 80 percent of the estimated production in Germany.
We prepare current topics in power transmission engineering for our member companies. We focus on technology, standardisation, market data, trade fairs, public relations and cross-industry dialogue. We provide impetus for technology trends such as Industry 4.0 and "Drive systems in Transition". In the areas of research and education, we use the synergy effects with "Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik e.V.".
The VDMA Regulatory Cockpit provides clear, practical fact sheets on the most important regulations for mechanical and plant engineering, offering an at-a-glance overview. You can find out which industries are affected, what the schedule looks like, where action is needed and what sanctions can be expected. It is a valuable guide for any company looking to prepare for new requirements at an early stage.

Types of correction - mechanisms of action - design
Increasing comfort requirements in automotive applications as well as legal requirements for stationary systems are the drivers of continuous noise reduction in gearbox development. At the same time, efforts are being made to achieve maximum power densities. In order to achieve both low noise excitation and high load-bearing capacity, the design of suitable gear corrections is becoming increasingly important.

Influence of gear macrogeometry - production of gear corrections
Increasing comfort requirements in automotive applications as well as legal requirements for stationary systems are drivers of a constant noise reduction in gearbox development. At the same time, efforts are being made to achieve maximum power densities and favorable efficiency levels. In order to achieve both low noise excitation and high load capacity with favorable efficiencies, the design of suitable gear corrections is becoming increasingly important.
