Florian Scholl: Order intake January 2026

Machinery and equipment manufacturing companies in Germany have recorded a weak start to the year in their order books. In January 2026, orders remained 6 percent below the previous year's level after adjustment for price changes. Domestic orders were 8 percent lower than in January 2025, while orders from abroad were down 5 percent.
