Hybrid Lightweight Technologies
We pool the expertise available in mechanical engineering in hybrid lightweight construction technologies and offer a Europe-wide platform for all companies involved in the value chain.
Lightweight applications are increasingly based on an intelligent mix of materials. The working group is therefore concerned with production processes for hybrid lightweight components using fiber-reinforced plastic composites and metals. In addition to technology providers from the VDMA, users, suppliers and research institutes are also welcome to participate in the working group, which has around 200 members. The aim is to further develop production processes, automation and joining technologies across all materials and throughout Europe, thereby creating sustainable jobs.
