The Delegation is a project co-funded by the German government as part of it's market development program for SMEs. The target group is primarily small and medium-sized German companies (SMEs) but some larger companies will be admitted too, if they are active in the field of climate-neutral production for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. In fact, we as VDMA are looking forward to a good mix of SMEs and large companies, as the aim is to discuss and offer potential customers in the Oil & Gas, Petrochem, low-carbon Solutions (H2, PtX) and Energy Sectors in UAE and Qatar energy efficient and advanced net-zero solutions for process industries. So we need everyone on board! The delegatio trip is limited ot 12 companies, on a first comes, first served principle. Participation is open to companeis based in Germany, their local  GCC offices and event to their agents. Participation fee for a four day programm is very affordable (500,- to max. 1000,- Euro depending on company size). And the trip is schduled the week after ADIPEC, so who likes can even combine both!

We are planning visits to Qatar Energy, ADNOC and the oil & gas company Champion X Chemicals in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, among others. Numerous b2b meetings with desired partners and a presentation event on energy-efficient and climate-neutral process technologies for oil & gas and petrochemical companies are planned. 

Services for participants in the delegation

Individual appointments with potential business partners:
Individual business B2B appointments with pre-identified potential business partners and clients are arranged in advance for the participating German companies.

Presentation event:
As part of a presentation event in Doha (Qatar) and in Dubai (UAE), the German companies present their products, services and fields of cooperation to a selected Qatari and Emirati professional audience (representatives of companies, associations and government institutions).

Visits to companies, institutions and reference projects:
As part of the program, appointments will be held with the management of selected companies and institutions, and reference projects will also be visited.

Preparatory webinar:
A webinar for the participating German companies will be held approximately four weeks before the trip to prepare for the business initiation.

Conditions of participation, costs, registration form
The project is part of the market development program for SMEs and is subject to the de minimis regulations. Depending on the size of the company, the companies' own contribution for participation in the project is

- EUR 500 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of less than EUR 2 million and fewer than 10 employees
- EUR 750 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of less than EUR 50 million and fewer than 500 employees
- EUR 1000 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of EUR 50 million or more or 500 or more employees

Travel, accommodation and catering costs are borne by the participants themselves. The individual consulting services will be certified for all participants in accordance with the EU's de minimis regulation. A maximum of 12 companies can take part. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received, with SMEs having priority over large companies. We therefore recommend that you register as soon as possible. The participant is always the company with an address in Germany. However, several people per company, e.g. the local representative, can also take part. For example, it has proven to be a good idea to have the local representative and an expert from Germany attend for each company. For logistical reasons, a company delegation should not consist of more than two people (due to meeting room capacities and delegation tours for external appointments).

VDMA coordination
The delegation trip is coordinated closely between the AHK UAE, the organizer MENA Business and the VDMA Forum Process Technology. Mr. Ragnar Strauch, VDMA Forum Process Technology, expert for oil & gas as well as decarbonization markets for process technologies, will accompany the delegation and partly act as moderator. There may also be a management meeting on process technology "climate-neutral production" with representatives of VDMA members on site (tbc).

Participating companies are requested to communicate their wishes for b2b talks, company visits and industry focal points as early as possible so that we can tailor the program to your wishes - as far as this is possible. As this is a delegation trip with +/- 10 companies, we ask for your understanding that not every individual wish can be fulfilled: nevertheless, AHK, VDMA and MENA Business will make every effort to fulfill your wishes as far as possible. In the past, this has worked well in the majority of cases, so we are optimistic about this. The printed program in the attachment is still a preliminary draft - adjustments are possible. Please contact Mr. Strauch with your specific expectations and we may be able to incorporate your wishes into the program.
