Directive (EU) 2024/3019 concerning urban wastewater treatment replaces Directive 91/271/EEC, which has been in force since 1991. The revised directive was published on 12 December 2024 and entered into force on 1 January 2025. EU Member States must transpose the provisions of the Directive into national law by 31 July 2027 at the latest. The VDMA's experience exchange events provide a platform for discussing the requirements and challenges, but also the opportunities for technology providers arising from the revised Urban Waste Water Directive.
