VDMA meeting for market experts
In response to numerous requests from members of the Process Technology Division, the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Department, and VDMA Power-to-X for Applications, we are now organizing the third meeting to discuss developments in the international H2 and P2X markets. The European Market Experts Meeting is aimed at managing directors, sales and regional sales managers, as well as project and marketing managers, and brings together European technology players along the H2 and green molecules chain. We expect around 40 participants from the DACH region, with a few from other EU countries. The event will be held in English.

Green Molecules – Current and Future Markets

Hydrogen and other green molecules are currently the focus of attention. Process engineering companies in the VDMA have long been familiar with the market for gray hydrogen. New additions include blue and green hydrogen as well as innovative solutions for hydrogen derivatives, which are increasingly finding their way onto the market as low-carbon or even climate-neutral variants. The most important areas of application include chemicals, steel, cement, glass, heavy-duty transport, shipping, fertilizers, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and energy.

However, the market situation is challenging: in some cases, the markets are still in the process of being established, but at the same time there are already clear prospects and initial projects in Germany, Europe, and worldwide. Numerous VDMA members now offer their own products related to hydrogen or other climate-neutral molecules.

Focus: Australia & Canada

We have chosen Australia and Canada as the focus for the upcoming meeting. As usual, the VDMA will present the current market developments. This will be followed by the traditional introductory round, in which all experts will be asked to assess the current market situation along the H₂ value chain. The following presentations have already been confirmed:

  • Lukas Strohmeier, Delphi Data: Delphi Data Benchmark Canada-Australia-Germany,
  • Sam Lowe - Senior Overseas Counsellor for the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW): Green Hydrogen opportunities in Australia – Policy and Framework
  • Johann Rinnhofer – CEO thyssenkrupp nucera Australia: Green Hydrogen opportunities in Australia – Industry perspective;
  • Arndt Ulland - Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada to Germany - Global Affairs: Low Carbon Hydrogen Opportunities in Canada – Policy, Framework, and Funding

There will be ample opportunity for networking during the breaks and at lunch.

Terms and conditions

The event is free of charge for VDMA members and is aimed at managing directors, sales and regional sales managers, as well as project and marketing managers with an interest in the German, European, and international markets for hydrogen and H₂ derivatives.
