The Sustainability Committee is set up to deal with important fundamental issues relating to sustainability across all associations. Questions relating to environmental policy positions are dealt with in the "Environmental Committee".
The Sustainability Committee is responsible in particular for defining the guidelines and positions on sustainability within the association.

In doing so, the committee adopts both an external (EU/national politics, EU/national associations, the public, etc.) and an internal (VDMA organizations) perspective on its tasks.
