Small boost from abroad
Incoming orders in the mechanical engineering sector rose by 4% in real terms in October compared to the previous year. This was driven by non-euro countries. The growth is pleasing, but only represents consolidation at a low level.

"Reduce dependence on China quickly"
With the ResourceEU plan, the EU Commission wants to make Europe less dependent on raw material imports from China. In particular, the development of Europe's own production and processing capacities for critical raw materials is essential in the medium term.
