Details and the agenda for the event will follow.
The revision of the so-called CSRD (Non Financial Reporting Directive - NFRD) will significantly expand the user group of companies that have to report on their own sustainability activities and will affect numerous other machinery and plant manufacturers in the European Union. The VDMA has critically supported the revision of the CSRD from the outset and called for reduced reporting requirements so that the implementation is manageable for the mechanical and plant engineering industry and represents added value for the user of the information. Despite partial successes, there will also be a heavy burden for companies in the mechanical and plant engineering sector.in addition to large capital market-oriented companies, all large corporations and limited liability partnerships above certain thresholds defined by the EU, as well as smaller listed companies, are required by the revision to report on their social and environmental activities.
The new CSRD Directive also requires these companies to report on their sustainability strategies and objectives as well as on the due diligence processes used to identify potential and future negative impacts and risks - including throughout their value chain.
