1. What measures are necessary to increase the resilience of the semiconductor value chain? Jan-Peter Kleinhans, semiconductor analyst at the OECD, provides insights into global semiconductor front-end wafer manufacturing, where the regional manufacturing centres are located, what structure sizes and process technologies are used, and what business models underpin the main economic regions. Analysis of existing information highlights the need to gather further data in order to make the right policy decisions, assess dependencies, develop diversification strategies and evaluate long-term trends.
2, The second presentation by Anke Uhlig, VDMA Economics and Statistics, also deals with geopolitical perspectives: The global economy is in a state of upheaval: geopolitical tensions, market fragmentation and technological transformation are shaping the global environment. While global macroeconomic growth remains robust, demand for capital goods and machinery is below average worldwide. Europe is under particular pressure and is showing increasingly uneven development. What does this look like, how are other regions developing and what are the growth prospects for mechanical engineering companies?
Seminar language: German, the presentation slides will be in English.
Teams Meeting: We will send you the dial-in details 1-2 days before the seminar.
A distributable version of the presentations will be made available to participants after the seminar.
We look forward to your participation and lively discussion.
