16x9

Currently, the mechanical and plant engineering sector is benefiting from the recovery in global business development and also expects a strong upturn in export business to China. In the first half of 2021, the German mechanical engineering industry delivered goods worth 9.76 billion euros to China. This corresponded to an increase of 14.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

The interest of our industry in the Chinese market is unbroken and further expansion of local activities is expected in the near future. China's hunger for reliable, energy-efficient, environmentally compatible and more networked products and plants is great and the European mechanical engineering industry has corresponding solutions on offer.

Nevertheless, despite these encouraging signals, it must not be forgotten that China, with its state-capitalist economic model, is exerting an ever greater influence on framework conditions and technological developments, which present companies with which pose additional challenges for companies now and in the future.

A new VDMA study, produced in cooperation with the Swiss mechanical engineering association Swissmem, analyses, among other things, current Chinese industrial policy, the 14th Five-Year Plan, Chinese foreign trade policy, geopolitical trade conflicts and the progress of the "Made in China 2025" strategy. The study will be presented at this event. Strategic and operational suggestions for action are also intended to support the development of one's own strategy in dealing with and in China.

The event is aimed at everyone in the company who is involved in business with China: Executive management, sales and service management.
